Meet Our Principal

 

I am a educational leader dedicated to expanding opportunities for students and creating school communities where every child can thrive. A Garland, Texas native, I believe that access to an exceptional education should be available to every student, regardless of circumstance, a belief that continues to shape my vision as Principal of Downtown Montessori Academy. I am also a passionate champion for Montessori education, advocating for its child-centered, hands-on approach as a powerful model for fostering independence, curiosity, and lifelong learning. Holding a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from the University of North Texas, a Master of Business Administration from Texas Woman's University, and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas.

My career in education began as an English Language Arts and Career and Technical Education teacher, where I developed a passion for instructional excellence and student success. As a teacher leader, I facilitated professional learning communities and professional development, experiences that helped shape my commitment to developing both students and educators.

I began my administrative career as Assistant Principal at Young Women's STEAM Academy, where I led instructional improvement efforts in Reading Language Arts. Through strategic coaching, data-driven decision-making, and a focus on teacher development, the campus earned distinction recognition in Reading Language Arts during my tenure.

In 2024, I joined Downtown Montessori Academy as Assistant Principal, where I led the Reading Language Arts department and cultivated strong relationships with students, staff, and families. Championing equitable access to high-quality instruction and meaningful learning experiences while helping strengthen the school's culture and academic programs.

Now serving as Principal of Downtown Montessori Academy, I am honored to lead a community that values curiosity, independence, creativity, and lifelong learning. I am committed to building on the school's strong foundation through high expectations, meaningful partnerships, and student-centered practices that ensure every child is challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their fullest potential.

I look forward to partnering with students, families, staff, and the broader community as Downtown Montessori Academy continues its tradition of excellence, innovation, and student-centered learning.
